rain... rain... go away!

I live in Richmond.... 3 days of nonstop rain... and they are calling for Snow tomorrow night.
Times like this, I'd like to be positive, but the positive energy is slowly fading away...
I can't take any more of  this rain.
So let me cheer you (and moi) up and post some lovely beach pictures of my kids, Mila and Rayden and their cousins, Sydney and Sophie taken last summer at Virginia Beach.
hope this post made you smile! I sure did :-)

PS- I've asked Friendship (aka Evie) to send me some palm trees.

getting to HAPPY...

if you are reading this blog, welcome back and make yourself comfortable :-)

I came across this book, "Getting to Happy" by Terry McMillan at the Fantastic Thrift store last Saturday. It was sitting there by the cash register as I was getting ready to check out. I'm a big fan of Terry McMillan's work, "How Stella Got Her Groove Back" and  "Waiting to Exhale". I'm all about friendships, girl empowerment and being to be able to share my views, opinions and life experiences with friends who are real and honest. Just like the book and movie "Waiting to Exhale", this is about the friendships that I've made in my 37 years of life.

I don't have just one best friend, I have a few and I'm so grateful for that. The relationships that I've built with these women are life savers! They are like my psychiatrists, only they are free and I can call them anytime 24/7, including Holidays. So this is a tribute to my "psychiatrists, BFF's, homies and partners in crime"

Thank you to these ladies for their never ending support, their love and their undying loyalty . Thank you to the book "getting to happy" for making me realize how important these women are in my life.

You can check out a list of Terry McMillan's books from her website here  www.terrymcmillan.com

happy 2013!

I hope the new year has been good to you and your family!

this weekend was spent thrifting, hanging out with my kids and shopping with my tween daughter. I heard of the newest Goodwill store in Goochland county and I knew I had to check it out, even if it means dragging my 2 kids and niece along for the ride.

The drive was beautiful and we got lost. Sometimes, getting lost could be a blessing as we were greeted with really gorgeous scenery and an unexpected surprise. Here are some photos and we were so thankful that we got lost :-)

This unexpected surprise was the highlight of our day.
